Have you ever been attacked by a fandom? Do you recall the experience?

Has it ever happened that a kpop fandom got triggered by you for some reason? If so, how was it like?
I remember being 'attacked' by some ARMY in the past because of some fanwars between the fandom regarding a game poll for the members. It sucked.

Yeah. Army's sent me death threats among other things in 2018 and Blinks sent me hate at one point but those were the only two fandoms that ever gave me trouble.

I bet most of these people don't even actually understand what 'death' means.

It was bad, i got told to kill myself, told that they hoped i was r*ped and murdered, someone said they had ties to the japanese mafia and were going to hire someone to kill me and my kids, i got called a pedophile, someone said they were going to call child protective services and report me for abusing my kids, and more.

This all came from me saying how hot Jungkook looked in one picture.

So with Seventeen being my ult I was really salty about BTS winning so many MAMA awards, especially "Best Male Group Dance".
It might just be me, but I'm pretty sure the majority of people believe that Seventeen should have won the award, or EXO for Tempo, but mostly Seventeen. It was just because of how large the ARMY fanbase is and how Mnet is I guess whipped for BTS.
So, on a Youtube video that stated who won what award, I commented in a very careful and constructive way, my opinion.
I basically said that Seventeen and any other group in that category should have won, because "Boy with Luv" was not an award worthy dance in my opinion, especially compared to the other nominees. I made sure to include that BTS is full of amazing dancers and has preformed amazing dances that are award worthy, just not "Boy with Luv".
I mentioned that I support BTS and that I have 16 years of dance experience to make myself seem more credible and not just a BTS anti.
This did not deter Armys from basically writing me essays in the comments about how "Boy with Luv" was the best dance ever and I am insane to think that they shouldn't win. I also got a lot of, BTS has been through so much and built themselves up from a tiny company so they deserve the award. I gave up trying to defend myself and just deleted the comment.
Now I only comment positive things on videos cause I know at least one person is gonna hit back.

Mine is not per say "an attack" but I'm still mad about it and I did not appreciate being called stupid regarding something I have trained in for longer then some of those Armys have been alive.

I feel you so much. I also share the same fear about commenting stuff sometimes.
Not winning an award does not make your faves less talented or worthy and they don't need all the awards just cause they're madly popular and it's true that BTS have worked hard but this doesn't mean that other groups don't do the same.
It's even more irritating when you're being respectful and someone immature straight up replies with a 'stfu' for example.
Also in your case your experience should've been taken into more consideration bcs you obviously know more than people who have clearly no idea about dancing and are just being biased. I'm sorry you had to go through this.

Yeah I'm proud of Seventeen and any group I stan no matter if they win or not, but just having that award is just an affirmation for them and fans. To see it go to someone based on popularity just kinda hurts, especially when it is a subjective thing judged off of skill and choreography.
Them winning the daesang for best album makes sense cause they base that off of numbers, but not the dance award.
I wish people were more accepting of others opinions.

Once, on a Blackpink hate video I said something along the lines of -It’s ok for people to hate and bully Blackpink, but its a crime to say you dislike a BTS member or song - And I got AtTaCkEd by 10 year old armys, saying I’m a bi*ch, should go die, and others even bashed Blackpink while trying to defend BTS. Armys have this weird instinct to attack people who don’t even hate on BTS, they just mention them. Really sad how the fandom grew so much that the nice, genuine fans got overshadowed by these little monsters.

I also had the an unpleasant memory with toxic ARMYs (there are good ARMYs, but some are not. I’m sorry if I sounded rude, I’m just sharing my experience) .Some of my friends at scl who are ARMYs (they’re not my friends anymore) said that Bighit is going to acquire pledis bcuz Seventeen, NU’EST and the other artists of Pledis have no talent, and Bighit is going to improve them. We all know that talent is not something that can’t be compared. Also, I faced the same struggle as @Lost_in_the-Dream when I was telling them that Seventeen deserved the “Best Dance Male Group” award at MAMA 2019. Hit and fear are totally hard choreographies when compared to Boy with Luv. Then their reply was “BTS is the best and no artist can take their place”. Then are every other grp some trash? Every kpop group is working hard as BTS to make new music. I was so disappointed and now I don’t talk to them.
Still, they haven’t stopped insulting other kpop grps. Hope they'll (those past friends of mine) learn a lesson someday
So, that was the unpleasant memory I had.
Now, I have a good team of friends who always show their respect and love towards kpop groups.

im so sorry, the fandom can really get chaotic and rude sometimes, im an ARMY (dont worry i dont bite) and ive had countless arguments with my non - multistan friends (im trying to get them to see more of kpop besides bts) on how bts really ISNT the best and how all kpop groups are very talented.

btw is it just ARMY that has a toxic fandom or is it just other fandom's toxic fans overshadowed. If you think about it, bts ARMY is a giant fandom, and the ration of good fans to toxic fans should be approx the same in each fandom? Plz dont attack me but in my opinion, the only reason why there is all the hate from toxic armys is because we really are just a giant fandom. maybe its because the toxic armys stand out more and are more vocal or their toxic opinions. anyways all i wanted to say is that not all armys are toxic, there really is a ratio and its probably the same in every fandom. i mean blinks are another big fandom, and look at all the toxic fans.

I have had similar experiences. I remember back when EXO's The Eve and Electric Kiss dance practices came out on YouTube and I was commenting really positive things about the members. Like how they looked really good or had improved their skills (mainly the none dancers like Suho) and some childish ARMYs replied to my comments, saying things like no matter how hard EXO practiced or had improved, they would never be as good as BTS and that EXO would never win any dance awards cause BTS was going to win. Not really an attack either but still just an unpleasant experience.
