YESSSESSSSBEEN A WHILE HRUU
IM FINE WBYYY
YESSSESSSSBEEN A WHILE HRUU
WAIT DO U HAVE SCHOOL RN?ok im tired and i woke up early
i go back to sleep
I'm okkk wyddddddddddYESSSESSSS
IM FINE WBYYY

Oki so rn were learning abt this but I still get stuck
nopeWAIT DO U HAVE SCHOOL RN?
Whaaa? Soo spring break?nope
but technically yes
cuz im trying to help winter
awh ok im in classI'm okkk wydddddddddd
Ohhhh oki oki!!! when do ik when its deletion like ik its when like a letter isn't there yk but I still get stuckView attachment 161058
okoks
when dealing with um mutations, there's usually a change in the DNA involving it's base pairs (A, T, G, or U)
A can pair with T
G should pair with U but thats a convo for another day
in this type of mutation, the original sequence (above the gene with insertion) is as shown.
When the mutation is caused, a G (yk the thing in red), is inserted. Everything after that G is shifted right. Therefore, the... yk... sigh. sequence changes in a way
you need three letters to create.. codons

looking back at this chart, View attachment 161060 is View attachment 161061
THR.. or whatever
so
View attachment 161062
after ACA, there was AAG, the next codon. But since that G was added (yk.. bottom), it changed to GAA, which would be found at GLU
View attachment 161063
When trying to find these codons, you'd look for the first letter in the super left column, which in this case is G. The 2nd letter will be looked for at the top, which is A. the 3rd, is all the way to the right. You want to find where they meet to create the codon GAA, which is GLU
omg this is so hard. teaching i mean

Oki so rn were learning abt this but I still get stuck
and I'm very very grateful <3nope
but technically yes
cuz im trying to help winter
my brain hurtsmk now we're gonna look at this mutation example
View attachment 161064
On the left is where the original sequence is
you can see the DNA (CTT.. codon. remember that. ALSO blue sequence) is paired up with the mRNA (GAA.. the red. codon.) ALSO reference back to what I said earlier. A pairs with T (or U), C pairs with G... blah blah blah. So if I have C in the DNA, it'll have to be paired with G in the RNA but anyways moving on
The mrna is where we want to put our focus on at the moment
you can see the mrna is GAA, which can create the codon Glu
looking back at the original chart
we'll find it here
View attachment 161067
anyways
back to the mutation, if the base pair is changed in the DNA, like how it was changed from T to A View attachment 161069
the mrna is changed. A cannot be paired up with A.
So, in this case, the mrna will be changed to U
OH THAT REMINDS ME
u can only be in MRNA, not DNA
this is so complicating im so sorry
but yes notice the change
View attachment 161070
NOW our codon is GUA
we have to look for it woohooo
View attachment 161071
As a result of the mutation, our new codon is Val
welcome to freshman year in an early collegemy brain hurts
uhhhOhhhh oki oki!!! when do ik when its deletion like ik its when like a letter isn't there yk but I still get stuck

*sigh* yes indeedSigh
