Police have confirmed that he was involved in a car accident with a jaywalking pedestrian. When he was driving on a rainy day (1st August), he struck a man who was crossing the road even though the pedestrian signal light was red. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital but unfortunately, passed away shortly from his injuries
The Seoul Seobu Police Station stated, “We are currently in the process of investigating the accident. It is true that the person passed away after being hit by Im Seulong’s car while he was jaywalking. However, we are still investigating the details of the situation and whether Im Seulong violated the Road Traffic Act. Im Seulong was not driving under the influence, but we are investigating other possibilities, such as speeding. However, it is difficult for us to say anything at this time as the investigation is currently underway. We ask for your understanding that we cannot reveal details regarding the investigation.
Seulong's agency, Jellyfish Entertainment stated "We are currently in the process of confirming details regarding the accident involving Im Seulong. Once we have a full understanding of the situation, we will release a statement. "

What are your thoughts?

Fans are starting to put the blame on the deceased, which makes me sick. Yes, he should not be jaywalking, but the driver should have paid way more attention to the road. In driver's ed one of the first things you learn is that pedestrians always have the right of way.
Yes, the weather was bad and it was night time, but you should not have a driver's license if you cannot drive in those conditions.

This is from an article:
Many netizens have expressed their concerns for the artist's mental well-being as they state this incident was not his fault.
Netizens' commented:
"This is not your fault."
"Don't jaywalk at night. You can ruin the driver's life."
"Seulong is the victim. The guy that died is the one who jumped into the street when he wasn't supposed to. Now Seulong has to live with the guilt all his life. That's more difficult."
"The guy jaywalked the street on a rainy night...I feel bad for the person who died but I feel bad for the driver too."
"He doesn't need to beg for forgiveness cause the guy jaywalked."
"It was the guy's fault since he crossed the street when he wasn't supposed to. I feel bad for him but it's his fault. Seulong didn't do anything wrong."
"How can you avoid a person who suddenly appears when you didn't expect him to, especially in the rain."
"We drivers support Seulong. Every driver will emphasize if they experienced almost hitting someone who is jaywalking. It's not your fault."

I am so sick of fan's treating their idols like they are gods. They take the blame off of them even if they are at fault. They are treating this poor man who passed away like he jumped in front of his car for the sole purpose of ruining the driver's life. A human being died, that is more important than your oppa's image.
I'm not saying the deceased is not at fault, he shouldn't have been jay walking and his actions contributed to his death, but by saying the driver was not at fault in any way is insulting to the man and his family and is just ridiculous.

I hope I'm not the only one who feels this way.
