okay, so basically im dating this kid. hes a cool kid or whatever...but I don't want to be with him because.... I don't like boys... hes really sweet and hes pretty much convinced hes in love with me. he buys me stuff, writes me poems and has told me his entire life story... I don't wanna break his heart. hes been my friend for a while... but I don't want it to go on for much longer... help? please?

Tell him how you feel. If he actually cares abt you he'd understand your situation and not want to have you in discomfort. Say smth along the lines of : "I loved the time we spent together, but I found that boys aren't what I am looking for. I hope you understand. I will be your friend still and hopefully we can still be happy without the awkwardness and hatred of ex's"

I understand how you feel,,, but the best is to tell him, since being with him longer and if he knows that it might hurt him much more. Besides, his feelings aren't more important than yours! Be honest with him, if he truly is your friend, he'll understand. Maybe things will change, of course, but you shouldn't be in a relationship where you don't feel comfortable uwu

It's best you tell him the truth as soon as possible, since you're friends you wouldn't want to leave him getting the wrong idea for too long, the longer you leave it, the more complicated it will be to get out of the relationship. I wish you all the best
