my faves lately
elris: seriously amazing bubblegum pop with crazy detailed instrumentation, their debut mini is impeccable
gwsn: personal mvps for 2019, everything they put out is beautiful and thoughtfully designed even down to the album art, bsides are especially good
playback: only have like ten songs tops but i love all of them. untold story is my favorite
gugudan: a lot of groups say this but g9 can actually pull off any concept. latest eps are the best but their discography has no skips to me
9muses: rip </3 some of the most diverse and musically interesting titles in the game imo
brown eyed girls: not at all underrated in the actual industry but more ifans and 3-4gen fans should look into their group and solo work, it's immortal, especially miryo's catalogue has a lot of stuff i think newer kpop fans would vibe with a lot. and i sincerely think basic is one of the best kpop albums of all time
Playback had such a good debut but was so poorly promoted. It's one of these groups who want an instant success at first try or else they slowly disapear. I really liked Hayoung (who also was ranked #9 in Mix9 for gg) and Ma Eunjin (KPopStar S6 top 8) who joined them later, but I had to admit I don't know what they are doing now.
BEG has such a strong discography and yep
Basic is on of the best album out there. But they are veteran now.
GWSN is one of my new pick of the year, and their albums are really well made.
I really like some members of Elris and Gugudan but their music isn't overall what I prefer.
Fanatics are the other rookies I really like. They delivered a good debut. Chiayi is one of the best dancer out there and I expect Doah to have a good acting career.
Everglow is also the rookies group who really shine, but they aren't underrated in my opinion.
One solo artist I really like is
Eyedi. She's a soloist who participate to Mix9 and ranked #5 (Nam Yujin) in gg. I really like her discography, especially
Caffeine released almost a year ago. I posted a thread with her MV somewhere in this site.
AOA has one of the best discography out there and I'm pretty excited with their comeback. They did a unexpected good job in
Queendom, everyone thought they were done. But talent shines.
Queendom had many great groups but they are already well known :
(G)I-dle, Lovelyz, Mamamoo, Oh My Girl. I just think they should be more famous because they delivered.
DIA is the group I'm pretty biased to, but is the most underrated I know.
Woowa is such a great song, but was mostly ignored like many of their songs and their sells are still pretty low after 4 years. Their side tracks are really good and often self composed. Jueun in tvN V-1 showed her pianist skills are no joke. Chayeon was in IOI and Yebin in UNI.T. Eunice is pretty active in her Youtube channel and continue to deliver great contents, including dance and song covers. Their company really sucks in communication and DIA suffers of it. For exemple they were mute during 4 months when Jenny had health issues and were nowhere to be seen, postponed their comeback without proper notice, and then announced she wouldn't joined their march comeback, like one week before. Later they announced she will leave the group to properly recover. The company image was damaged in the public eye by T-ara scandals, their silly choices and lack of communication. T-ara scandals turned out to be a real witch hunt without proper fact checking, Hwayoung lies (she's indeed a good actress), and the company didn't address the matter with strong lawsuit like they should and prefered to be mute.
tvn V-1 was a good show with many great vocalist from April, Cherry Bullet, DIA, Dreamcatcher, Gugudan, Sonamoo, Venus and WJSN.
CLC is also a group I really like. They deliver really strong contents.
Dreamcatcher is so great, concept, music, voice, dance, funny, they have everything I like and are pretty unique. They are already global and are well appreciated by international fans. Already seen them 2 times in concert, and they really deliver live. You can't go wrong with them.
