...not every successful group is the next BTS, that's a once in a lifetime group
As Suga and Dahyun both said:
I don't think there will ever be a second BTS - Suga
They know a thing like me is once in a lifetime - Dahyun
Okay so...
1. Who said they want to be the next BTS? This is something only kpop fans are forcing on other groups.
2. IVE achieved something astronomically successful for a rookie group. This should be celebrated not scrutinized.
3. The quote you used from Dahyun is from TWICE's song "Icon" which she is not credited for writing. It was literally a random lyricist who put it on a piece of paper and gave it to Dahyun.
4. You cut off Suga's quote for it to work in your own favor. He actually said, "I don't think there could be a '2nd BTS.'" He explained, "I think a '2nd so-and-so' does not exist. When you're young, there are heroes that you look up to. When I first started music, I also wanted to be like the ones I admired but I didn't become them. I became BTS. Rather than saying having the '2nd BTS,' I think it'll be better to produce other great artists and singers." In this quote he is emphasizing the importance of individuality in artists, not that his group is so amazing that nobody will ever be able to reach their heights.
5. Please stop insulting up-and-coming groups who are working so so hard, just to protect and gatekeep the success of your faves. Nobody is gonna forget how big BTS and Twice are/were. There are always going to be new groups who reach success and potentially surpass them. BTS essentially started out as the next Big Bang and Twice the next SNSD. But they used their music to become their own individual artists, just like what IVE is trying to do.
Oh and to clarify, I don't even stan IVE.
