“His repeated impulsive behavior led to the suspension of activities.”
“We will submit text messages and other proof to the court.”
PocketDol Studio issued an official response on the 7th, addressing BAE173 member Doha (real name Na Kyumin)’s lawsuit over his exclusive contract.
Doha recently filed a lawsuit seeking confirmation of the invalidity of his exclusive contract and an injunction to suspend the contract, citing issues such as settlement problems, the company’s financial deterioration, unilateral suspension of activities, and a breakdown of trust.
In a message posted on SNS the previous day, Doha stated “There were unfair issues far beyond what I could handle. Against my will, the company’s unilateral decisions made it impossible for me to continue scheduled activities.”
Responding to this, PocketDol Studio said “The suspension of activities was not a unilateral action. It was a decision based on accumulated reasons such as an unfaithful attitude and unexpected behavior on-site.”
The company added that it has secured text messages and messenger logs as objective evidence and will submit them to the court.
PocketDol stated that it intends to clarify the facts through legal procedures and apologized to fans for causing concern. Regarding BAE173’s activities, the company explained that the ongoing overseas tour and team promotions will proceed without change, and the remaining members are focusing on performances as promised to fans.
Below is the full translation of PocketDol Studio’s official statement:
First, we apologize for delivering unfortunate news to fans who support BAE173.
PocketDol Studio confirms the reports from November 6, 2025, regarding member Doha (Na Kyumin). We would like to share the facts through our legal representative.
Doha has filed a lawsuit to confirm the invalidity of his exclusive contract, as well as an injunction to suspend the contract.
Regarding settlement reports: PocketDol sends quarterly settlement statements to all BAE173 members via email. Doha also received them. In April 2025, his guardian requested an email address change. Due to staffing shortages caused by an employee’s resignation, the settlement report was not sent immediately, but after review procedures, the final statement was delivered in October. This delay was an administrative oversight, not intentional omission.
The suspension of Doha’s activities was not unilateral. It resulted from accumulated issues such as an unfaithful attitude and unexpected behaviors on-site. During his appearance on iQIYI’s “Starlight Boys” in China in 2024, the production staff repeatedly contacted us requesting improvement regarding his insincere attitude. Although Doha expressed a desire to continue filming after we considered withdrawing him for his well-being, problems persisted.
At a recent fan event, he left the venue without prior discussion and even used profanity on-site, causing an inappropriate situation in front of fans. The event organizer recognized the seriousness of the incident and requested improvement measures from us.
Our managers and staff support artists from early morning to late night throughout the week without charging additional fees to the artists. However, Doha made unreasonable demands, such as asking that days when managers did not work be deducted from settlement costs—something that is impossible given the nature of full-time managerial work.
We have also received multiple reports that Doha’s words and behavior have caused difficulties for staff and associates. We will submit text messages, messenger logs, and other objective evidence to the court to clarify the facts.
We find it regrettable that Doha posted about this matter on SNS. We will clarify the exact facts through legal proceedings. The ongoing overseas tour and team activities will continue as scheduled. The remaining members are focusing on their performances to keep their promises to fans.
Once again, we deeply apologize for causing concern.
