never quite got to anti status but i was almost a blackpink anti. when i realized what was happening i was like 'oh. this is how you become an anti. wild'

i used to be a big fan back in late 2016 up to when they released square up/dddd. i liked their music so much, and i thought the girls were neat. i considered them one of my fav girl groups. i was looking forward to square up so much, i even purposefully stayed up for the mv which i dont usually do. i was so totally disappointed with the album, i disliked every song. i felt like, this is what i waited a year for? after that i just kept getting more bitter about all the hype they were getting for what i felt was a mediocre album and that they could do so much more. i still remember being irrationally annoyed by their so hot remix (if i am truthful....i am maybe still a teeny weeny bit annoyed by it).

i guess since i'd already spent time being in their business as a fan, now that they weren't doing music i liked i felt like i had to change that investment into heavy criticism (sort of like a weird perversion of the sunk cost fallacy). i say i never went full anti because i was always more willing to spend time propping up my favs than tearing down blackpink, and i knew that a lot of the problems i had with them were out of the members control (release schedule, producers). i still dislike their recent music, i still dont get the hype, but i dont focus on negative feelings about them anymore. if nothing else, i still like them for their modeling gigs.

there are other groups that i avoid or dislike but i don't think its quite to the point of being an anti, because for the most part i don't really care about them. i think to be an anti, you gotta care. if you don't care then you don't really waste your time or energy on them.

and tbh sometimes i don't "hate" or "dislike" groups, i just dislike some groups fans's behaviour.
