am i the only one that finds it embarrassing when telling people (non kpop fans) you like kpop??

maybe bc one time i showed my cousins my blackpink album,showed them the photocards,and them telling me "tHeY lOoK tHe sAmE" or "tHis mUsIc iS sHiT"
and also opening up to adults is very awkward for no good reason.

Yeah. Kpop stans have a horrible rap on the Internet because of some... Weirdos. So I always feel awkward about it, but I've turned it into a joke. Plus my actual friends don't care so.

i don't feel embarrassed (actually, i don't really get embarrassed easily/often, so yay lol), but i am a little wary. people where i live are usually v xenophobic and racist, to i never know how they'll react. on the plus side, tho, i have a cousin who likes kpop, and my mom and sisters like some of it. plus, my friends are chill w it, they don't care (one of them actually likes it, just not actively)

is it weird i feel like the only one who doesn't really care if people know or not?
normally I'm really shy but when it comes to kpop that's something i love, and if i find a hater... i kinda feel i would open their eyes and make them shut up.
maybe i just have had a really great experience with kpop. i met a pair of friends, and tell them i like kpop. then a month later, they text me loving it. I've made like... 3 or 4 really nice, weird friends. so id say just stand up for yourself and what you love. the only way you meet people is to talk about it.

NO I get super embarrassed when anyone talks about it at school especially because I'm considered to be one of the more popular girls at school and I don't want my reputation too be ruined because of my interest!!

Yup, unless they are already a friend of mine.
People have a lot of judgement about kpop and its stans. I avoid talking about kpop with strangers so they don't have that false conception about me.
