Pre-orders for LABYRINTH's first mini album 'LABYRINTHUS' surpass 90,000 copies
Mitsu Entertainment's rookie girl group LABYRINTH has marked their first record! According to the company on February 20th, pre-orders for LABYRINTH's upcoming debut album surpassed 90,000 copies! This marks a brand new record in pre-orders for the group, with a week still left until the album's release coming up on February 15 at 6 PM KST.

Counting the amount of album orders is a bit of a difficult thing for me, so I asked for @LostInTheDream's advice. I measured Labyrinth's popularity considering the reactions I received in this thread. So I concluded, 1 order is 10,000 orders. Anyways, they'll be a huge hit in the fictional world, and that is what I'm more than 100% sure of!

Jinsol: First of all, welcome all who have joined ‘LABYRINTHUS’ debut FiKLive today! How about we introduce ourselves before we start? Let’s start with Katsuki!

Harin: We have a special guest in our debut FikLive showcase who will be in charge of hosting. Members, let’s welcome the host of the FikLive, Ms. Choi Soyeon!

Soyeon: I’m so excited for people to get to know LABYRINTH at the beginning of this year, and I’m really happy to be here as the host of your debut showcase.

Soyeon: Because of this excitement and your highly anticipated debut I can’t even imagine how you must be feeling! Can you give us a little backstory on where the name of the group comes from and its significance to you as a group?
Jinsol: Actually there were many options before our debut date and other information was decided. However, our CEO-nim came up with the name LABYRINTH finally because it has a very interesting meaning to it.
Soyeon: I can’t wait to hear it!
Jinsol: It is actually based on the labyrinth legend in ancient Crete about King Minos who formed a Labyrinth in his castle where he…
Soyeon: He? *nervously*
Jinsol: I’m sorry, can I start it again? I forgot the lines *nervous giggling*
Lilou: Don’t worry unnie, you can do it!
All: Jinsol unnie fighting!
Soyeon: Jinsol, it’s okay. You can start again. *smiles*
Jinsol: Thanks! So this King Minos formed a Labyrinth in his castle and trapped princesses and princes to be victims or most likely prey of the evil mythological creature, Minotaur. Our lore is also similar to this. According to our backstory as LABYRINTH, we are six princess sisters from a kingdom which was attacked and later invaded by the creator of a labyrinth. We were taken inside the labyrinth and are trapped so we have no way out. As our lore created by our CEO-nim says, we don’t know when we’ll face the evil creature and because we have no way out, we have to forget our previous identity as princesses and move on.
Soyeon: Oooh, it sounds like a movie! What happens next?
Harin: According to our role in LABYRINTH, at first we were scared about our destiny because we aren’t sure what happens in the dark future that awaits us six. But we are on our way to getting out of this maze and finding our true identity
Jinsol: and where we actually belong to.
Soyeon: This is very interesting lore! But I have a question, if this unknown labyrinth is what the members are afraid of and are lost inside, why did it become the group name?
Jinsol: It is because we are thankful for the labyrinth for helping us realize who we are. This might sound a little bit confusing, but if it’s not for the dark experience we face inside the Labyrinth, we would be the same old princesses we were who lead luxurious and ignorant lives about not knowing the reality of the dark world outside the walls of our castle.
Jihu: Actually the dark experiences we face inside the labyrinth finding a way out and trying not to encounter the evil creature are similar to our lives as trainees.
Katsuki: She doesn’t mean it in a negative way!
Jihu: Oh yes, I don’t mean it in a bad way, I’m sorry if I made that confusing. The sacrifices we’ve made as trainees lead us today to find our true identity as the six members of LABYRINTH.
Jinsol: I’m speechless *she places her palm on her chest in amazement* This is indeed a very creative and interesting concept! I can’t wait to listen to the music video and the album to see the way how this awesome concept matches it!
Katsuki: We won’t make you disappointed!
Soyeon: I’m sure you won’t. Moving on, how long have you all been together as a group at this point when it comes to training together, dorm life etc.?
Lilou: It’s been about 4-5 months since we started living together in a dorm as a group. We all have our own individual rooms in our dorm.
Jinsol: Me and Harin joined Mitsu Entertainment two years ago when we were in high school.
Soyeon: Oh, you two knew each other before joining the company?
Harin: Yeah, we are friends since middle school
Jinsol: *whispering but at a volume that others can hear* Life is not easy! *All of them laugh* Actually we trained for the longest time in Labyrinth.
Jihu: I joined Mitsu Entertainment as a trainee a year ago. If I am correct Katsuki, Kazuha and Lilou started training nine months ago.
Kazuha: Yes Jihu unnie, it was nine months.
Soyeon: Moving on, what has been the best part of being in a group so far?
Jihu: As I was more of an introvert I was always used to practising alone, but after I met Jinsol unnie and Harin unnie I found myself to be an extrovert. Their friendship is so precious and the way how they tease each other and laugh made me want to become a part of that small circle too. After Katsuki, Kazuha and Lilou joined our small family became an important part of my life.
All except Jihu: Awww!
Jinsol: We share good chemistry among ourselves. When it comes to shopping or going out, we always make sure to allocate a certain time period that is available for each one of us. Sometimes when we get extra lessons from our vocal coach, choreographer or the Sun sunbaenim who is in charge of rapping some members won’t get to go early, so at times like that we postpone our gatherings.
Katsuki: Jinsol unnie is right. The thing I like most is doing something together with all of our efforts. It’s so cool when we accomplish things together!
Kazuha: I think we have a lot more to improve and learn from our sunbaenims in the industry because we have just debuted. Like our manager often says, there is always room for improvement. I hope we will be able to fill in the gaps and go on this journey as one team.
Soyeon: You all gave such lovely explanations to that question. The bond you share as a group is really precious.
Harin: Thank you!

Soyeon: Let’s go to the next question. What is something that you feel you would like to contribute to this collective group of talent?
Jinsol: As the leader and one of the eldest members of LABYRINTH, I want to be someone whom the younger members can count on and always be there for each one of them. I have to say that without them, I wouldn’t be here, so I’m really grateful for them. Also, I want to be the kind of leader who leads even through hardships and be like a shield that protects her members at all costs.
Others: Awww *They hug Jinsol* We love you too!
Harin: I also have the same kind of wish like Jinsol. We are both the eldest sisters so we have a big responsibility over the young members. As one of the visuals and vocalists in LABYRINTH, I hope I can help the team using my talents as much as I can.
Jihu: I want to be a person who can bring bright energy even during hard times and do my best to make Labyrinth the best girl group!
Lilou: Although I’m the maknae of our group, I don’t want to be someone in charge of aegyo.
Soyeon: Oh, why is it?
Lilou: I think Kazuha unnie is more suited in that place because everything she does is cute! I want to be someone who is in charge of being funny so my unnies can laugh when they feel tired and unhappy. I’m a genius at that!
Jinsol: But the opposite of that happens often! *she laughs*
Lilou: Hush, unnie, we agreed to keep it a secret! *Jinsol winks at Lilou*
Soyeon: Jinsol and Lilou can take care of it after the live ends *she giggles* Moving on, can you tell us a little but about the inspiration behind your first mini album? What was your goal considering this your first opportunity to present yourselves to the fictional kpop world?
Jinsol: I think Katsuki is the best to answer this question. She is the one who came up with ‘BOCA’, the title track.
Soyeon: Oh, I see. Then this question is for Katsuki!
Katsuki: I’ll try my best not to give any spoilers before we release the music video. Simply, BOCA means the action of being vocal in Latin and the lyrics express the frustration of having to watch the innocent going through traumatic situations. With relevance to our lore, we show our urge to protect them as we have learnt about the darkness inside the labyrinth.
Jinsol: Adding to what Katsuki said, the lyrics suggest that this strong voice is threatening to shut the evil for their evil actions against the innocent.
Harin: That’s right.
Soyeon: What a powerful message that it gives! Now I really want to watch the music video! I think it’s time for my wish to be fulfilled, am I correct, girls?
All: Yes!
Soyeon: Before we wind up the live, I’m sure you also have something to say.
Harin: Like we said at the beginning in the FiKLive, we put a lot of our hard work into making this a success, so I hope our fans will enjoy our music to the fullest!
Lilou: And we hope our fans will continue to support us like this in the future too!
Jihu: Exactly, we have a surprise for our fans that will be announced tomorrow, so please look forward to it! I’m asked not to give any spoilers, so just this will do!
Katsuki: Jihu unnie is very good at dropping spoilers so I’m happy that she didn’t do it today to our fans. Anyways, our album is a full variety of songs that sounds very different and conveys our concept, so I hope our fans will love it!
