And these people wonder why other fandoms look down on ARMYs.
This is why sometimes i'm ashamed to be a part of the ARMY fandom. some fans don't know that this stuff can hurt the idol and make them uncomfortable. I write FF about idols sometimes but i would never take it to this extent. The furthest i have ever taken it in any of my FFs that have real idols is two characters kissing, and i even feel a little uneasy when writing that. I wouldn't even call these people toxic fans, because real fans would never intentionally make their idol uncomfortable. and the fact that Taehyung himself saw this is horrible. I would be devastated if i were an idol and i saw people writing about me in a disgusting way like this. People like this just need to go to therapy if they think that sexualizing idols in this disgusting way is okay. Idols are people too. Im sorry that people like this exist, Taehyung. :{

A genre of fanfiction I really think isn't okay is little space smut.
Little space is when people mentally regress to a younger age due to stress. It's a real thing, I learned about it in a psych class.
But in these fanfictions, writers will often infantalize their idols even more to make them seem even more innocent or submissive.
They have them regress to a baby or a toddler.
Then they write sex scenes with their caregivers. Which tend to be other idols.
They are basically writing sex scenes between a 4 year old and a grown as adult. It's written pedophilia.
THANK YOU I'VE BEEN SAYING THIS FOREVER. people would tell me that's i'm being ignorant but that's honestly something that if you're gonna write it (which ultimately you shouldn't because you shouldn't romanticize a mental illness) keep it to yourself.

you're turning something that probably isn't too fun to have into your little fantasy and then even forcing it onto an idol.

In real life it is a coping mechanism for people. To fetishize it is insulting and demeaning.
TW/SH and ED
I feel the same way about when writers have their idols self harming in their fanfiction. First of all, they obviously have no clue what it's like to self harm because the descriptions are drastically different.
Then they romanticize the self mutilation by having the other idol 'cure' them.
Same thing goes for when writers give the idol an eating disorder. The other idol will come to the rescue and help them have healthier eating habits.
It just makes me cringe any time I read this stuff because of how inaccurate. As someone who has/had suffered from both, I feel like my struggle is being diminished.

i feel the same!
self harm
whenever i see it is always just for angst. it's almost never a correct example of what it's like. it always goes the same way too, someone has something happen to them,
they self harm
,then someone comes to tell them to stop and it's like it's automatically cured.
when i sh even when people were there for me, it's not like i was going to stop. that's something i worked on by myself.
it feels almost like it's becoming a trend.

I agree.
The person hurting them self is the one who has to cure them self (with help of course).
And most self harmers, including myself, would never stop if someone just told me to.
And it isn't brought on by a random event most of the time. It's a habitual thing.
And just the way they write it is so disrespectful to people actually struggling.

mhm i hope that people can start to realize that someones trauma/hurt is not your aesthetic and time to turn it into a cute little story that'll totally overlook what it's actually like

Another genre of fanfiction I really dislike is the rich man poor woman trope.
Writers will portray one idol as being poorer in some way. This could be in terms of money, popularity, or some medical/psych issue.
This idol also tends to be the submissive one, or the omega in omegaverse fics.
Then the idol will be rich in some way. Money, power, physique, popularity, etc.
The 'rich' idol will swoop in to save the 'poor' idol, even if their friends don't like it.
What's even worse is when this rich idol bullies the poor one. and then they just magically change their mind or they say 'I was trying to get your attention. This is giving impressionable people the idea that they should expect their bully to fall in love with them, so they should endure it.
It also romanticizes bullying and puts too much emphasis on the savior complex.
It just furthers sexism within society.
I understand that some may write these fics as a projection. They write themselves as the poor idol because irl they want to be saved.

This trope is also very very popular among kdramas. So many of them use this formula.

trauma, s/h, mental illness, etc. is not an aesthetic. as somebody who has suffered from s/h and still struggling with it, it's disgusting to see people romanticizing it because it's not in any way shape or form "beautiful". It's horrible, and from my own experience it is not enjoyable at all.

I agree and can relate.
Romanticizing mental illness, especially sh is only makes it less important. Or seem like it's less of a struggle to overcome.
It can also influence others to engage in this behavior, thinking they would be saved by their favorite idol.

Your right, and when NCTzens made sick rape jokes about jimin i was really upset to be part of the fandom some fans need to know when to stop and control. This goes to all trauma that has happened to any idol in the past. Only true fans would love and respect them in all ways and do them no harm. I hope this stops soon. Or they do something about the RPS (Real Person Slash)

I believe self harm and mental illneses (or how you spell it) should be discussed in a serious way and shouldnt be like taken as a joke when real people suffer these

Yeah TW/ED
It really hurts me personally because I've suffered with mental illness for 8 years now. It's not cute or romantic when the idol is written to have an ED and then the other idol is like 'oh I'll save you' and then cures them. It's unrealistic and makes me struggle look like it was non-existent. I should have just gotten some dude to tell me to eat.

These fans need to really think if they are making the right choice. Im not saying that all fanfiction authors are like this, some are good and dont take it far or some are like these who participated in the RPS. But from what i've seen most fanfiction authors are teens. Writing stories is fine but i dont think the power of writing should be abused in this way especially when your favorite idol finds out. The idols are realy happy and love their fans we wouldnt want to dissapoint them, or real fans wouldnt want to upset them or make them feel sexualized or uncomfortable. They need to be good to the fandom and the idols. They are humans too and i for sure know that the authors of these fanfictions would not enjoy being sexualized in this way if they were an idol and their fans were doing this. Especially since idols dont know every one of the fans in the fandom which makes it even more uncomfortable

i really dont mind...regular fanfiction like with no sexually added but if it goes this far i think we should stop reading them and respect our idols even though we full on love them.
Yeah fanfictions of just nice wholesome settings are nice but smut and on and so forth would just be sickening, imagine having thousands of people write sexual stories of you. See? Isn't something you would apreciate from what is supposed to be you're pride and soul. I have watched some and they are honestly disturbing considering they come from people younger than BTS, TXT etc... and being a actual child that i can get accses to is even more sickening. we are meant to love and do every thing for kpop idols and many more. They go through a lot with just hate (the twitter stuff about jimim and the toxic NCTZENS and ARMY)

This is when I leave, because I used to write that stuff,( not 4 year olds and adults, but adults and adults) - don't kill me. I was like, 15, I'm 17 now, and I've seen a councillor about it and I'm all gucci now.
And before you ask - no, it was NOT TXT I wrote about. The idols were like 25 - 30. That's all I'm going to say.
