I don't think they paved the way but they did bring alot more international exposure for kpop in the last few years with all the talk shows and award show performances.

They do have helped the kpop community gain popularity but I don't think they paved the way.

They brought more international popularity but I don’t think they paved the way. I think each group paves the way for itself.

I think theyre one of the groups who helped pave the way for NEWER groups but there are definitely older groups who have paved the way for kpop to be they way it was before kpop blew up even more after bts

they are only one (seven?) of the many hallyu stars that have and currently are continuously paving the way for those who will come after them. the first brick in that road was arguably placed by seo taiji, all that followed have continued to add to it.

I think people are always going to be asking that question about the biggest group(s) at the moment, like it used to be Bigbang and Shinee that people would talk about but I mean it seems fleeting, also what about PSY, like he had songs that did really well internationally but a lot of people forgot about it, he really helped to introduce kpop to international audiences but I mean he seems to have been so easily forgotten about so can we say he paved the way? Will BTS be as influential in a few years as it is now? (sorry I feel this got off topic, bye)
