Its okay to like another culture, but when you take it too far...
Yea, I agree. Especially as someone who's actually half Korean. I don't mind when they dress up like the culture(as far as fashion trends) and when they like it in general, But when they go too far like spending 150,000 dollars to look like one is way out of line.....

i have nothing against wanting to wear makeup in a 'korean' or 'asian' way but really showing pictures of korean women like 'acting cute' 'oppa salangé' is really disgusting. You might have seen the 'gwiyeomi' video and it's a perfect example of koreaboo. So, to love Korea, its customs, its gastronomy, its culture, yes, but in becoming obsessional and being ready to leave your family for a Korean family, it's strange.
Here is my opinion c:

I definitely do not like them :/ But I think that people need to normalize the difference between wanting to learn Korean and being interested in the culture and a Koreaboo
But I think you should never try to ch age your culture cuz it’s just bad 😁 +They’re pretty annoying like I- no your not korean boo so stop trying to be- Also kinda not a koreaboo but people who call all males oppa even if they’re not Korean (both the person they’re calling and the person calling them oppa) cause it can makes others uncomfortable and it’s just disgusting 🤢

there's nothing wrong with wanting to learn Korean and being interested in the culture, but when people become overly obsessive with just Korea in general, (like for example, calling yourself Korean when you aren't) that's when you become a koreaboo. To me, Koreaboos are extremely disrespectful and a lot of them don't know how stupid they look when they tie their hair in pigtails an say "oppar saranghae" in a baby voice.

I think it's really disrespectful to imitate any culture/group based on stereotypes and generalizations. Which is exactly what the majority of koreaboos do.
A lot of these people who do this often only highlight the good parts of being Korean. They never discuss the struggles.
They use the culture as an aesthetic.

mm. Like how about the kidnapping and forcing of minor korean girls into prostitution in ww2? Japan didn’t even just do this to koreans, but to japanese geishas and even some dutch women. A lot of women were forced into it. Or the fact that japan basically were the ones who seperated korea into north and south. Yeah how about that

Honestly for me the koreaboos are cringe and weird. I mean I also like the korean culture but the koreaboos take it a bit too seriously
