Are there any kpop songs you've heard playing in public, for example a grocery store?
*this only includes public places that aren't in South Korea because obviously you would hear kpop pretty frequently in public there.*
I have 3 that I can remember.
As the place I used to work "Idol" by BTS would come on every once in a while. But I would usually tune the music out, so I would only hear it when it got to the "oh oh oh oh" part.
I heard TXT's "Sugar Rush Ride" in a thrift store a week or 2 ago.
I just heard FiftyFifty's "Cupid" in a shoe store.
Pretty sure I heard Butter on the radio once but likeโฆ English trackโฆ I also remember my old Zumba teacher accidentally playing Money by Lisa once but once again itโs an English song and also doesnโt really count as public lol. I canโt think of any other experiences. Unless you count that time some kpop people turned our college cafe into a kpop session

omg you made me remember the time I went into a starbucks and I guess the workers there got to chose the music.
I got to hear Dumb Dumb and Gingamingayo!
I was with non-kpop friends and they didn't know why I was freaking out lol

I was sitting in the cafeteria minding my business one Thursday, waiting for my Eng lesson, when I look up at the screen and whom do I see? TXT. Perfoming Opening Sequence. I was sHAKEN. It made me so happy even though FOR SOME REASON back then I didn't like Opening Sequence. TASTELESS. Anyways I sent an anonymous confession to our college confessions instagram and I thanked the person who paid to have TXT on the wall for making my day and then I went to English. After Eng I went home to have an egg, and when I came back to college FUCKING CHEER UP BY TWCIE WAS PLAYING. And I couldn't contain it any longer I did the choreography. Anyways turned out the girl who had paid for TXT on the wall was friends with another one of my friends and that was how we became kpop friends who send kpop memes to each other and are seeing TWICE together this September.
If you're wondering why the details are scarily accurate, it's coz I follow such strict routines with my day. I know for a fact I went home for Lunch that day and whenever I go home for Lunch I always eat an egg lol.
Yknow something so tragic though? The confessions page never posted my confession
I went to target, and I heard Bet You Wanna by Blackpink.
At a restaurant, I heard You Make It All Right by BTS.

It was playing in a jewellery store Iโve been to a few weeks ago, and the mv was playing on the tv there
Only really the predictable ones aka the more famous English ones like BTS Dynamite I've heard a lot when it came out but one that kinda surprised me was the Ateez and Pentatonix song (forgor the name) because I still hear it on the radio every now and then... Other than that, kpop on the radio here is very unlikely
Iโve heard BTSโ Butter at Walmart on more than one occasion. I also heard a Loona song at Walmart once, that was a shocker because the only Kpop song I ever heard at Walmart was Butter.
At a Korean supermarket I heard Monsta X and TXT while I was in there shopping.
Oh and NCT also at the Korean supermarket. I was there with my dad and he looked at me and goes โisnโt this that music you like?โ And I was like โyesโฆโ and he was like โthis one sounds pretty cool.โ He was talking about NCT, btw, so he kept asking me the name of the group whenever a new song came on. The lady working there must have seen I was really into it, and turned the radio up a little, and I was like โโdeadass stopped and stood there for a moment because I was slightly embarrassed but then ATEEZโs Guerilla came on when we were about to leave and my dad was like โoh I like this one.โ And I was just like please letโs go.
at a Barnes & Noble I heard Magic by TXT (basically ig like a bookstore but more like upscale if that makes sense)
I went to Koreatown (in LA) and in the Koreatown Galleria bakery, they were playing OMG by New Jeans & I danced to it & also last week they played it in my high-school
Dave & Buster's which is basically Chuck-E-Cheese but better I heard them play Left & Right by Charlie Puth & Jungkook (I remember being like & singing the song) and once when I was eating I heard them play Butter
pretty sure I heard My Universe by BTS & Coldplay on the radio
also Stray Kids songs in the bathroom (but that was at the venue BMO stadium on the 2nd day of the MANIAC Encore in LA)
I was at Famous Footwear with @SkylexLoona and In The Morning by Itzy was playing. She was completely freaking out, lol. It was actually really funny : )
And at Walmart they were playing Star by Loona once.
