Story about train journey to Paris.
So from St Pancras there were quite a lot of tunnels and so me and my mum were a little confused about what would be THE tunnel under the English Channel to France. We were in a tunnel, a long one, and we were checking my SnapMap and saw we were chilling right on the coastline in Kent so we were like yeah we must be about to enter the tunnel. Fast forward maybe 5 mins, weโve emerged again. And it doesnโt look much different from Kent. So me and my mum just goโฆ โhuh, I wonder where the actual tunnel will beโ and sit confused.
While Iโm looking at my mumโs phone, I noticed her time said half past 3, which was odd because weโd only been on the train an hour, but we left at half 1. When I checked my phone, it said half 2. So I thought maybe I read her time wrong or something. Moved on. More time passes, I suddenly get a text from my phone provider, titled WELCOME TO FRANCE. Odd, I think, we havenโt made it to France yet. My mum notices her time is odd, and we begin to piece it togetherโฆ
โWe need to spot a sign or a road to see what side the cars are driving onโ.
There were few signs. And few roads. But eventually we did in fact find some cars and they were in fact driving on the right. Weโd been in France the entire time, and hadnโt realised it. We thought the tunnel was too short but turns out itโs only a 20 minute trip under
