The only things you can do without makeup or downright skin bleaching (which is really unealthy and likely to cause a bunch of skin issues and more horrible things like cancer and necrotic tissue), is to wear spf 30 minimum regularely, wear hats and stay more in the shade when you can and avoid exposing youself to the sun too long especially between 10 am & 4 pm (when uv rays are the strongest), and exfoliate your skin regularely. Your skin should be lighter naturally. There is one other solution is getting some kind of vitamin iv drip cure that removes all the tan, don't know what that's called but it's common in asian beauty institutes I think. I don't think it's dangerous since it's used in certain disease treatment, and was later taken by beauty clinics for the whitening side effect, but I'm not sure. Based on your question I'm guessing you're from that side of the world, so you can look into that if you want.

Thank you so much friend... I always thought sunscreen was a marketing strategy so I was a bit hesitant and also when I wear it my skin becomes dull. I have a combination skin. I have tan in hands and legs. I don't have even skin tone throughout my body and i don't know where to start.Yes I am an Asian (Indian).. Is there effective exfoliation routine ?

Sunscreen is not at all a scam, it's vital part of skincare and skin health. You for sure need it to get lighter skin especially somewhere like India. Not all of them give you dull skin, depends on the sunscreen or spf product. Maybe try spf50 moisturizers or bb creams? They're less likely to give you that effect than a trad sunscreen. Also in gen make sure to not use too much product and to blend it well on your skin.
For exfoliation, you don't need any special products. Just regular exfoliation will do. You just should do it regularely in the shower like twice a week. For your face just do it once a week.
Also I think there's some kind of face or body masks that you can use to brighten your skin a bit (not the unhealthy bleaching ones). I think some type of clay does that.

Make sure to get a loofah to scrub your body well (not the face), it's harder to do it with your hands. For exact products, I've found that sephora collection has some good ones, cattier & la roche-posay, for face stuff. I don't have specific recs for body ones, i kinda use whatever. You don't need a specific brand anyways, just don't get stuff from the very cheap budget brands that are going to give you very irritating bad quality products.
