On August 4, Yuna Imada, who had been acclaimed as the best idol screamer in the whole of Japan announced her retirement from PassCode and the entertainment industry, leaving us, Hackers, with a major sense of loss and uncertainty. Then on August 22, a new screamer was announced, who turned out to be ex-Ladybaby Emily Arima. The announcement came out in the form of a short video. Here it is:
It had always been my impression that Emily wasn't at Yuna's level; so this was some kind of a bummer, but on Nao's twitter account, she reveals she picked Emily herself. Being PassCode's leader, she better than anyone would know what PassCode needs, so I hoped her to be right. Well, Emily is good, but I'm still unsatisfied. However, I have to admit that Yuna cannot be easily replaced. Here is what I mean. This is Emily's biggest challenge. First check out her performance of Taking You Out (a few seconds into it is enough, but the worse part comes by 2:47):
Then check out Yuna's performance:
The critical part comes also by 2:47; but in order to catch it better, listening from 2:46 does it better. As impressive as Emily may come across; Yuna is way better. Yuna is a living legend.
My support for my ults has not faltered; but I miss Yuna so fucking much.
