On August 4, Yuna Imada, who had been acclaimed as the best idol screamer in the whole of Japan announced her retirement from PassCode and the entertainment industry, leaving us, Hackers, with a major sense of loss and uncertainty. Then on August 22, a new screamer was announced, who turned out to be ex-Ladybaby Emily Arima. The announcement came out in the form of a short video. Here it is:

It had always been my impression that Emily wasn't at Yuna's level; so this was some kind of a bummer, but on Nao's twitter account, she reveals she picked Emily herself. Being PassCode's leader, she better than anyone would know what PassCode needs, so I hoped her to be right. Well, Emily is good, but I'm still unsatisfied. However, I have to admit that Yuna cannot be easily replaced. Here is what I mean. This is Emily's biggest challenge. First check out her performance of Taking You Out (a few seconds into it is enough, but the worse part comes by 2:47):

Then check out Yuna's performance:

The critical part comes also by 2:47; but in order to catch it better, listening from 2:46 does it better. As impressive as Emily may come across; Yuna is way better. Yuna is a living legend.

My support for my ults has not faltered; but I miss Yuna so fucking much.

i'm sorry a member left, i'd be v sad if someone left my ult group
I didn’t even realize she left until I saw their new MV and noticed the difference. Wishing Yuna all the best luck in the world! And same to Emily & the rest of Passcode ^^
I'm still trying to get used to the "new PassCode". Emily has not made it any easier since she is almost completely absent from social media. However, it's much better for Yuna to have left. She was a very much happy girl during her first years in PassCode; but on 2017, she had to be rushed to the hospital to have an ovarian cyst removed. I'm under the impression that she failed during a concert. Being so responsible as she is, she performed even during her recovery time; but she couldn't dance, so she did it all while sitting. She recovered, but she developed a panic disorder that she hoped to overcome; yet she went from bad to worse over time. Listening to the last time she addressed the audience during a concert is heart breaking.

She was performing in the middle of a panic attack!

I have to stress that nobody was forcing her to stay in the group. She was stubborn and maybe too responsible. You can see how supportive Nao is to her. That may have contributed to compel her to keep going. It's much better for Yuna to retire. It hurts, but it's true.

***BTW I'm sorry if I annoyed anyone with my "stan PassCode" memes.
