REVIEW NO.16: LOVESTRUCK! - Kep1er (8/10)

1. LVLY
And when I say that LVLY is Kep1er's best song- Okay maybe it's too early to tell but this is the only song to rival Up! And that's ironic coz their concepts are so different. It's just such a hypnotising and addictive song you will catch me going "L O V E L Y la la la lovely" so many times a day I'm not kidding. And then the ending of the song where the audio slightly glitches. UGH. I love it.

2. Giddy (TITLE)
Their best title track since Up! Once again, you will catch me singing it at random points of the day. You make me giddy giddy giddy giddy all day. Even though I prefer LVLY this song was 100% the right choice for the title track. However, thanks to a K-content creator I can't remember which I have a feeling the song was originally called Kitty and idky that's relevant but it explains the album cover and dance moves.... just food for thought-

3. Happy Ending
A nice gentle tune. Ranking system has been upgraded that green means I like the song, but idk there's still that potential of me falling out of love. But idk I feel like this would be nice to listen to curled up in bed after a busy day yknow

4. Back To The City
She's giving Disney channel but I can't hate it. Idk it's fun and it makes you happy when you hear it

5. Why
Kinda bland idk if she'll survive on my playlists but at the same time it's perfect for the concept I usually go for... Like I want to make a "coffee-shopcore" playlist and she'd fit it so welllll.


Don't mind me referring to songs as she's. Songs are all she's to me.

Um I also just need to say this is Kep1er's best album yet and by miles. Like the overall cohesion of the playlist, the tracks are all likeable. CHEFS KISS. KEEP IT UP GIRLS! Strong contender for rookie album of the year in the Miel Music Awards I fear​

REVIEW NO.17: Over The Moon - Lee Chae Yeon (6/10)

1. KNOCK (TITLE)
This song was 10000x better than Hush Rush. Apparently when Chaeryeong heard it her response was simply just "it's addictive" and SHE DIDN'T LIEEE. Also I know I'm reviewing the song itself but the CHOREO TOO omg. This entire album just felt like a revenge plot for the response from Hush Rush. I mean... I didn't like Hush Rush but I'm just so glad to see Chae and her company cranking up her sass and power to like 1000%

2. Don't Be A Jerk
She's so chill and lovely there's nothing to hate for me

3. Like A Star
Okay so I've always been a strong advocate for ballads. But the thing is, with my new harsher approach to music ballads have suffered. Coz overall they're fine but like most of them... do kinda just sound the same. So I'm starting to understand why other fans tend to be a bit against them. There's nothing wrong with this song it's just not memorable and probably going to not survive my playlist wipe whenever that happens

4. I Don't Wanna Know
Okay so this is a controversial opinion coz I've seen so many people love this. And don't get me wrong Chaeyeon KILLED this song. I told you, revenge plot. The thing is... it's just a little too intense for me. And it's not quite enough for me to want to look past that. So I'm sorrry but it's a no from me

This album has made me sooo hopeful for Chaeyeon's future though if her next album is as good as this she may be considered for the stan listtt​

REVIEW NO.18: UNFORGIVEN - LE SSERAFIM (6/10)

1. Eve, Psyche and The Bluebeard's Wife
Has anyone seen that video where I think it's Kelly Clarkson and she's intervewing the Mario Movie cast and she asks Jack Black if he was excited to play Bowser and then it cuts to Jack Black wearing a bowser costume. This is how reviewing this song feels. If you would kindly look at my layout you may already have guessed I like this song quite a bit. When I first heard the snippet I was like ??? this is weird I'm not gonna like it but then them BOOM BOOM BOOMS hit. Is she on the level of Blue Flame? No. Will any song ever reach that level? No. But she's one of their best bsides yet. And continuing the recent comeback theme you will catch me singing it a lot.
Also the title is genius we love girl bosses girl bossing, and I love the amount of thought they put into the title..... even if it's giving TXT titles (nothing will touch Tinnitus (I want to be a rock) though)

2. UNFORGIVEN (TITLE)
So, I don't think LE SSERAFIM are a group that produce instant loves for me. I mean, even Blue Flame took me at least two listens I think though when Blue Flame grew on me she kinda just stayed there. So when I heard the teaser I was like eh... but the thing is I used to HATE Antifragile coz I found the instrumental annoying as fuck and I also hated the ANTITITI FRAGILE. Now? Now I do the choreo every time the song comes on on shuffle, I have the Antifragile Plank Challenge (which I've only done twice but shhh) and idk she's just my 2nd fave LE SSERAFIM song. So when I first heard "unforgiven I'm a villain" and cringed I was like it's fine I used to hate Antititi fragile too. But rn, whenever you catch me going "unforgiven I'm a villain" it's more... out of mockery than because I like it. There's still time to grow on me though! It's only been like a week since release.
Um anyways funny story though. Since Fearnot are probaly already gonna hate me by the end of this review I might as well keep going. The only reason I added this song to my playlist was because I saw someone comment that it reminded them of Not Shy/Sounded like something ITZY would release and I was like yknow what. Yes. Yes they would. And then after that not having the song added felt like I was dissing ITZY as if I didn't used to mock the Checkmate album relentlessly on here.
Just prepare yourselves because this is 1/3 songs which I'm comparing to other Kpop songs so if you don't like that this isn't the review for you

3. No Return (Into the unknown)
INTO THE UNKNOWWWWWN. Anyway. This song is highkey Back To The City's twin sister. Idk it's fun, it's giving Disney montage. My head keeps blending this song with Back To The City lowkey. I don't have much else to say

4. Flash Forward
If Mulgogi by fromis_9 and Feel Special by VIVIZ had a baby, it would be this. I'm telling you. And that's... the problem I have with this song. Normally I have no problem when songs are similar to each other but yknow that feeling when you listen to a song and it reminds you of another song but you can't think of which song so you get stuck on it for ages just feeling frustrated because you can't figure out why it's familiar. Even though I KNOW why it's familiar I'm just stuck on that feeling with it

5. Fire In The Belly
There's defo a time and a place for this song and idk it's just not on my shuffle. If this song played at a festival, or the world cup, I'd be screaming and dancing like my life depended on it. But it's just a bit too much for my general shuffle LOL

6. Fearnot (Between you, me and the lampost)
Ok so usually I do like a good ballad, even without everything I mentioned in my Chaeyeon review. But this song...... it just doesn't sit well with me. It just doesn't scratch my brain in the ways I want it to. But it's fine because I'm sure many Fearnot on Twitter would just tell me "iT'S nOT foR yOu" and you're right so I don't care LOL. What's important is the fearnot like it

1. DUST
RIdk it's just a fun and happy song but also quite relaxing. I think I'd find myself listening to this in the evening

2. I Don't Understand But I Love You
I love a bit of a sad song. I don't see myself listening to this often but I think in the right mood I'd love it

3. F*ck My Life
I feel like it would be a good song for when I'm dramatic and in my feels, but I also put it on my coffeeshop vibes playlist which... means nothing to anyone except me but it's basically chill and swaggy

4. SUPER (TITLE TRACK)
Pretty good but I'm not a fan of the chorus and I'm not in love with it. I didn't realise it was the title track though... it has more bside vibes imo

5. April Shower
It's nice, there's nothing wrong with it. I'm just not in love with it

6. FIRE
Only song on the album I'd happily call a skip. The verses are fine but the chorus lets it down

I know my album ranking doesn't really match my song rankings, but my reasoning is that even though none of the songs are really calling out to me, I don't think they're actually bad. They're just not my taste. The album cohesion is just good. I'd feel wrong giving it a lower rank​

1. Tinnitus (I Want To Be a Rock)
This song is just so relaxing and fun it’s addictive but also the lyrics are so cheesy but amazing?? Rockstar without the star?? JUST A ROCK OKAY

2. Devil By The Window
It took me too many listens to realise this song was fully in English but that was a discovery that made me so happy because I wanted to be able to sing it. I just love it but then the OUTRO OMG. IT’S LITERALLY LIKE YOU’RE BEING POSESSED OR SOMETHING. Incredible

3. Sugar Rush Ride (Title)
So at first I wasn’t a big fan of the chorus and idk it still feels a bit out of place, but like I’m still listening to it every day months since release and parts of this song just hit so hard. DEVILISH SMILEEE

4. Farewell Neverland
Having to put this at 4th HURTS. Like omg this is an incredible song it’s sad but uplifting at the same time. I fear I may have to listen to this on my last day living at home so I can cry and feel emo about leaving home. I absolutely love the “my Peter Pan” part. It’s TOO BEAUTIFUL

5. Happy Fools
I pretend this song doesn’t exist so that the rest of the album can be no skip. It’s just… not my cup of tea

If you can’t tell this is one of my favourite albums released, it made me decide to consider myself a bit of a TXT stan and finally learn their names. If this review had been out a bit later I would’ve been allowed to put Tinnitus and DBTW as all time faves but alas, they’re not quite 6 months old yet ​

REVIEW NO.21: KILL MY DOUBT - ITZY (10/10)

1. CAKE (TITLE)
Okay so this song was the biggest shock on the album. Initially I predicted it to be my least favourite of them all but oh god. It's so good and catchy and such a great song for the summer. Also Yuna's shake it shake bust it up part is just ICONIC. One of the most iconic Kpop moments of the year idec. My only two critiques is the fact it's mixpop. It's not enough to ruin the song but I just want JYP to give up with mixpop, because not only do they have a whole group called NMIXX who they can be doing mixpop with, but also IT'S A DEAD TREND. Not even aespa are doing it anymore. Please stop dragging ITZY and SKZ into it. Also, initially I felt it didn't feel like ITZY but honestly if you ask me it feels a bit like a more summery and cuter version of LOCO so. I think the more I listen to it the more ITZY it will feel.

2. Kill Shot
Okay so I thought this would be my favourite ITZY song ever, but I don't think it's quite there. It's still amazing though. It's for the gays obviously and the instrumental for this song is insane. I also love the bang bang swish swish they all fall down. A good way of getting a nursery rhyme into a kpop song, it's so creepy and good.

3. Bratty
Yuna's favourite track on the album woo. It's just so relaxing and nice, a little bit cheesy and fun too. I just can't find anything I dislike about it.

4. None Of My Business
Bratty and NOMB are basically on par with each other for me. NOMB is like Bratty but a little more summery. It's fun and soooo addictive. I cannot stop dancing to it.

5. Psychic Lover
I was quite disappointed with Psychic Lover because I thought it would be one of my favourite tracks on the album. It's not a bad song by any means it just feels slightly off to me in some places, and I don't tend to love rock songs much so I guess I should've expected this more. But I fall in love with it more each time I listen.

6. Bet On Me
Listening to this rn lol. I love it more than first listen but I just don't love Bet On Me as a SONG. Because if this was about music video or lyrics Bet On Me solos. But I don't really love the instrumental for this song nor it's pacing. The rap is incredible though. It has so many good aspects I just don't love the overall outcome </3​
