i had heard that once spotifykorea launched kakaom kept the artists they distributed unavailable there, im surprised it spread globally. is spotify really such a big threat to melon? at any rate, its the consumers and the artists who are most affected. this is like the issue with other types of streaming platforms....everyone keeps fighting for distribution rights and splintering into dozens of paid services; ultimately piracy is gonna be back on the rise and streaming services will see a drop in users.
might cancel my spotify subscription and go back to the old days if this stays as it is; good thing i have my cd player~
edit: i wonder if this might be an indication that kakaom wants to expand melon into a global platform?
